Avoid using latin abbreviations where possible. Try to simplify your sentence instead. In this case, the second example is simpler to read and understand:

  • Adobe has several applications, e.g. Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.
  • Adobe‚Äôs many applications include Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.

Always include a full stop after and within these abbreviations:

  • Use e.g. (not eg)
  • Use etc. (not etc)
  • Use i.e. (not ie)
