E.g., etc., and i.e.
Avoid using latin abbreviations where possible. Try to simplify your sentence instead. In this case, the second example is simpler to read and understand:
- Adobe has several applications, e.g. Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.
- Adobe’s many applications include Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.
Always include a full stop after and within these abbreviations:
- Use e.g. (not eg)
- Use etc. (not etc)
- Use i.e. (not ie)
